JCB UNVEILS NEW EQUIPMENT WITH BIGGEST STAND TO DATE AT CONEXPO/CON-AGG

JCB is celebrating record 2007 sales with its biggest stand to date at this year’s Conexpo-Conagg show in Las Vegas. The company, which is now ranked as the global number three construction equipment manufacturer, will have no less than 33 machines on show, many for the first time anywhere in the world.

As befitting a company that is the recognized market leader in both the backhoe loader and telehandler sectors, there will be revised backhoes and completely new Loadall telescopics on show. This includes revisions to the popular 3CX and 4CX models along with a fully glazed cab for the recently introduced Midi CX backhoe. Conexpo will be the first chance for many in the industry to take a closer look at the ultimate backhoe loader, the HMEE high mobility backhoe that JCB is currently building for the US Army.

Also present will be a new range of four Lift & Place high boom Loadalls, designed specifically for the North American market, alongside two of the first HiViz models in the Loadall line, which offer class-leading visibility and manoeuvrability.

JCB will preview its heaviest tracked excavator, the giant 57 ton JS520 Auto, which is being shown as a concept machine. Closer to production are two additional new crawler machines, the 32 ton JS290 Auto and the 40 ton JS360 Auto, both of which broaden the company’s offering in the mid-weight excavator sector.

There will be new wheeled loading shovels in both the compact and mid-range markets, with the introduction of the 403 and 409 shovels. North American visitors will also be able to see the recently upgraded Series II Robot range of skid steers and compact tracked loaders

There will be a number of machines from the JCB Vibromax compaction range, including the gasoline-engined VMT100, again designed specifically to meet the needs of the US market.

JCB’s diverse mini excavator line-up is further boosted with the introduction of the 8055. This 11,680 pound machine is available with a choice of reduced tailswing (RTS) or zero tailswing (ZTS) designs, both of which set new standards in terms of productivity and serviceability.

As well as the equipment, Conexpo provides customers with an opportunity to come along and find out more about JCB’s customer support. The business is investing heavily in North America, and will double the number of dealers that it has in the US market by 2010. In support of those dealers, JCB is currently investing in its Savannah manufacturing plant in Georgia and in a new North American customer support and parts distribution center.

Conexpo-Conagg 2008 promises to be one of the highlights of the equipment industry’s calendar this year. The JCB stand looks set to provide a must-see first stop for many visitors at this popular show.
